YOUR INFORMATION

Confidentiality,
with full clarity.

Effective date and last update:

Immigration Élite protects the personal information you entrust to it. This policy explains what the site collects, why, who has access to it, where this information is kept and how to exercise your rights. It applies Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

In brief

  • The site only collects your contact details and the details of your project if you choose to provide them.
  • It is used to respond to your request and prepare your consultation, never for advertising.
  • It is never sold or rented.
  • Requests received through the site are automatically deleted after 24 months.
  • You can view, correct or delete your information at any time.
  • The site measures its traffic with Google Analytics; you can opt out at any time.
  • The assistant answers with the help of an external artificial intelligence; you can turn it off at any time.

Who is responsible for your information

Immigration Élite is the firm of Christine Poulin, Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). Christine Poulin is the firm’s person in charge of the protection of personal information.

For any question, to exercise your rights or to make a complaint, write to info@immigrationelite.com or call +1 438 869-2028.

Mailing address: 5420, rue Robert-Gravel, Montréal, Québec H2J 4E7

As a regulated consultant, Christine Poulin is also bound to confidentiality toward her clients by the Code of Professional Conduct of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.

What the site collects, and why

Depending on what you do on the site, it collects the following information:

  • Browsing: like any website, it receives technical data (IP address, device and browser, pages viewed). This data is used to display pages, protect the site against abuse and fix errors.
  • Audience measurement: Google Analytics records the pages viewed, where the visit came from and the type of device, to understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • Contact form: your name, email, phone number if you provide it, project, destination and message, in order to reply to you.
  • Self-assessment form: your contact details, age, education, work experience and family situation, including those of your spouse and your children’s ages, in order to prepare an initial review of your situation.
  • Preparation plan: if you attach it to your request, the plan created on the Journey page (fictional example situation, steps, items to prepare and questions), to help the firm understand your project.
  • Assistant and journey: your questions to the assistant and your choices in the journey (project, example situation, destination), to produce the answers and the plan.
  • Booking: the information you enter in the Calendly calendar, to arrange your consultation.

You can refuse to provide this information: simply do not fill in the forms, and you can always reach the firm by phone. Without it, however, the firm will not be able to respond to your request online.

Do not send any passport, file number, document, or health or financial information through the site. If you become a client, the firm will tell you how to send them.

The site measures its traffic with Google Analytics, which tells visitors apart using cookies and estimates their region from their IP address; you can opt out in the cookies section below. The site uses no other feature that identifies you, locates you or builds a profile of you, and no decision about you is made by automated means.

Your consent

Nothing is sent to the firm without an action on your part, and the forms ask for your explicit agreement. The assistant states, as soon as the conversation opens, that its answers are written with the help of an external artificial intelligence; you can turn it off in one click, in the assistant or further down this page. In the journey, AI assistance is activated only if you accept it.

If you come from your preparation plan, it is attached to your contact request (fictional example situation, steps, items to prepare and questions), unless you uncheck this option before sending.

If you provide information about another person, such as your spouse or your children, make sure that person is informed or that you may act on their behalf. Information about a child under 14 is only collected from their parent or guardian.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the firm. It will then stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires it to be kept.

Who has access to your information

At the firm, only Christine Poulin views the requests received, in a protected private area. The site’s technical provider may access them for maintenance and troubleshooting; they are bound to confidentiality by a written agreement.

The firm does not sell or rent your information, and does not share it with anyone else without your consent, unless the law requires or permits it.

External services used, in Quebec and elsewhere

The firm entrusts certain tasks to providers, which process your information on its behalf and receive only what is necessary:

  • Cloudflare (United States): hosting and protection of the site, anonymous traffic statistics, the database of requests, kept in North America, and access control for the firm’s private area.
  • Resend (United States): sending the firm a copy of each request by email.
  • Microsoft 365: the firm’s email service, which receives these copies and your emails.
  • Calendly (United States): booking calendar on the Contact page.
  • Google (United States): audience measurement with Google Analytics.
  • An external artificial intelligence service, located outside Canada: used by the assistant, unless you turn AI off there, and by the journey if you enable AI assistance there.

Your information may therefore be shared and stored outside Quebec, in particular in the United States and, for exchanges with the AI, in other countries. The authorities of these countries may access it under their own laws. Before entrusting information to a provider located outside Quebec, the firm assesses the risks to your privacy.

How long your information is kept

  • Requests sent through the forms: automatically deleted 24 months after they are received; backup copies of the database disappear within the following 30 days.
  • Copies received by email: kept while your request is being handled, then deleted, unless they are added to your file.
  • Client file: if you become a client, your file is kept for the period required by the firm’s professional and legal obligations.
  • Conversations with the assistant and journeys: the site does not store them; they disappear when you close the page. What is sent to the AI follows its provider’s retention rules.
  • Technical logs of the site: 7 days at most.
  • Audience measurement: data kept for 14 months at most by Google Analytics.

You can ask for your information to be deleted before these periods end.

How your information is protected

  • Exchanges with the site are encrypted (HTTPS), and the database of requests is encrypted by Cloudflare.
  • The firm’s private area is only accessible to authorized people, after their email address is verified with a one-time code.
  • Repeated submissions are limited, and the forms are protected against bots.

If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, the firm notifies the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned. It keeps a register of such incidents.

Cookies and storage in your browser

Your theme choice is stored locally in your browser to keep it across pages and visits. It contains no personal data and can be deleted in your browser settings.

The last plan displayed also stays in the open tab until it is closed, so that it can be attached to a contact request.

The site uses no advertising cookies. It measures its traffic with Google Analytics, which places its cookies on your device. You can opt out of this measurement with the button below; it is also turned off when your browser signals that you refuse tracking (“Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track”).

Cloudflare also provides the firm with anonymous traffic statistics (pages viewed, where visits come from, loading times). This measurement uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not recognize you from one visit to the next.

The booking calendar on the Contact page is provided by Calendly, which may place its own cookies under its own rules.

Cloudflare may also set a technical cookie that is strictly necessary for the site’s security.

The assistant and the journey, in detail

The typical situations are fictional examples to help prepare for a discussion. Without activating the AI, the cases and the roadmap come from the local guide. If you activate the AI, your plans, the chosen case and the destination are sent to an external artificial intelligence service to create the situations and the five steps. No personal fields or documents are requested. The provider's retention practices apply to the elements transmitted. The mode used is indicated on the situations and the booklet; the generated suggestions remain to be confirmed with the firm. Returning to the guide stops further transmissions, without retroactively deleting those already made. Your progress remains on the open page. Reloading the page erases it. The links retain only the chosen plans and typical situation. Moving to the contact page transmits these general choices in the page address to prefill them, without sending a request to the firm. Downloading or printing the booklet creates a copy on your device.

The response mode in use is indicated at the start of the conversation. By default, the assistant writes its answers with the help of an external artificial intelligence service, to which your messages are sent. If you turn AI off, the answers come from a knowledge base about the firm’s services, and nothing is sent to that service. In both cases, messages are processed to produce the answer, without being stored by this application.

You can turn AI off or back on at any time, in the assistant or with the button below; your choice is kept in this browser. AI is also turned off automatically when your browser signals that you refuse tracking (“Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track”). The provider’s retention practices apply to the messages sent.

Do not share passports, file numbers, financial, medical or other sensitive information. The assistant does not have access to your file and cannot confirm your eligibility.

The "Clear conversation" button deletes the exchanges on the page. Closing or reloading the page also deletes them. This does not retroactively delete messages already sent to any external provider.

Your rights

You can:

  • find out whether the firm holds information about you and obtain a copy;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
  • receive it in a structured, commonly used technological format, or have it sent to an organization of your choice;
  • withdraw your consent or ask for your information to be deleted;
  • ask that the dissemination of information stop or that a link giving access to it be de-indexed, where the law allows;
  • file a complaint if you believe your information has been mishandled.

To exercise these rights, write to the person in charge of the protection of personal information (contact details above). The firm may ask you to confirm your identity and will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can contact:

If you are in the European Union

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may also apply. The firm then processes your information on the basis of your consent, the steps you request before any engagement, and its legitimate interest in securing the site. You also have the rights to erasure, restriction and objection, and you can contact the data protection authority of your country of residence (in France, the CNIL).
